Getting to Town
Driving? The racecourse is located on the Eastern Border of the Town on Yilgarn Avenue directly across the road from the Caravan Park. You can make your way through the town or via the bypass road. Northam is a pleasant 60 minute drive east of the Perth Metro area on Great Eastern Highway.
Public Transport? Transwa offer both bus and train services daily to Northam. See website www.transwa.com.au for information and bookings.

Gates open at 11am with full bar and tote facilities available at this time.
Admission: Midweek admission is free of charge, feature race meetings vary. Please see event link information on the website or follow us on Facebook for regular updates.
Please note the Northam Racecourse is a licenced venue so strictly NO BYO alcohol is permitted and all under 18 year olds must be accompanied by their legal guardian at all times.
You are most welcome to pack a picnic and enjoy the many area’s available for public seating. We can also offer tailored hampers via our Catering Partner Red Robin Hospitality. You are also able to dine-in our on-course café, with a range of meals to delight the fussiest of tastebuds. Café is open from 11am and meals are served in takeaway or dine in options.
Dress code. Our minimum requirement is neat casual dress code in all public areas. Strictly no bare feet are permitted on-course.

Northam Caravan Park
Situated immediately across the road from the racecourse so no need to book the cab or allocate the skipper. With grassed camp sites, caravan sites and on-site cabins there is an option to suit your needs. Bev and Ian, the park owners, will take good care of you. Call them on 9622 1620
Buckland Estate, Dempsters or Daisy’s Cottage
A majestic home just a short drive from the Town itself is Buckland Estate. Originally the home of early settlers, The Dempster Family, Buckland has been lovingly restored by its current owners and boasts 2 beautiful cottages available for short stay accommodation. The Northam Race Club has close ties to Buckland with previous and current owners being influential in the Clubs history. www.bucklandestate.com.au
Windward Balloon Adventures
A must for everyone’s bucket list, even if you are scared of heights. To float between the clouds and take in the breathtaking views of the beautiful Avon Valley is something else. Generally flying between April and November, a Balloon Flight is the perfect accompaniment to your trip to Northam for the races, the flight may even take you over the racecourse where you will have a birds eye view of the horses in training for the morning. Your flight will end with a delicious Champagne breakfast Northam.

On-course catering is managed by Red Robin Hospitality. With over 25 years in the catering industry, operators Gary Payne and Mark Dimmit are the recipients of many gold plate awards. Operating our on-course café on race day, Red Robin offers a delicious array of mouth-watering take away and dine-in options. Red Robin are also available for off-site catering and welcome the opportunity to tailor a menu for your next function.
Rivers Edge Café
Located on the edge of the Avon River in the Northam CBD is the relaxed dining experience of Rivers Edge Café. Dining options include indoor or alfresco with views of the River and the birdlife from either. Take time to enjoy a coffee and something to eat pre or post a stroll across the suspension bridge where you will have un-interrupted views of the river and the start line of the annual white water event, Avon Decent.
