Kendel Star four-year-old Triple Ken returns to Northam this afternoon to contest the Jenny Verlinden 20Years@6AM Handicap (1300m) and if he races to recent form he should prove difficult to beat. His past three runs at Belmont Park have been solid with placings to Reimbursement and the promising Antique Rose before a last-start fourth to Come Party over the mile. He hit the front inside the final 200 metres before peaking over the concluding stages and the drop back to 1300 metres and a drop in grade should be to his liking. Dontrocktheboat produced an eye-catching run two weeks back at Belmont Park in what was his best run this campaign. He rocketed home to be second in the fastest sectional of the race and a repeat effort will see him go close in the Weekend Wake Up With Dan Leach Handicap (1400m) Lovely Time was an impressive winner last week and look for her to be running home powerfully once again. Wonder Weed should be fitter for two runs back and look for the Tribu gelding to play a prominent role in the Rose Crane Handicap (1100m). He ran fifth to a nice type in Power Princess a fortnight ago and his track record is solid with one win and two placings from four starts. Ain’t No Angel couldn’t have been more impressive in breaking her maiden status a fortnight ago and look for her at business end of the race. Keep a watch on Lost Oscar for the Darryn Pateman-Peter Knuckey combination who may have turned the corner following an easy trial win at Lark Hill. Fusaichi’s My Dad ran on strongly from 12th on the corner to be placed third to Ain’t No Angel on August 5 and the step up in journey of the Dan & Ken Show Maiden (1300m) should be to her liking. Miss Flirty ran a nice race to be second behind Lovely Time in her best career run to date. Karan had to do a power of work in chasing Myscenic Myheights to the line but fought on doggedly to be placed second. He’ll derive great benefit from the effort and from barrier two should be able to get the run of the race in the Wheatbelt Focus With Danni Astbury Maiden (1300m). The David Harrison team have a good chance of getting on the board early with Pharinfront in the Wake Up With Mic Maiden (1100m). She ran home nicely from seventh on the corner to be placed third behind Easi Cummins and Mister Moneypenny on July 29 and punters will be hoping she can live up to her name. And Juggernaut Jack is getting closer to that elusive maiden win and should be rock-hard fit in the Rural Focus With Vin Dawes Maiden (1100m).
