Webster Searching For Royal Performance
Posted on 4/08/2010 | Posted by Julio Santarelli | Back to News Archive

The Colin Webster trained Royal Edict has the opportunity of snaring the first win of her career in today’s Bet With Your Local Tab Maiden (1300m) at Northam.

The Royal Academy three-year-old has yet to run a place in four starts but hasn’t been disgraced in all her efforts up against some handy and promising gallopers including All Friared Up and Cold Handel.

All Friared Up is a Blackfriars filly who is unbeaten in three starts and certainly looks a promising type for the Stan Bates stable and is a galloper laden with ability.

If Royal Edict can reproduce the same effort as she did last start when placed fifth to the talented filly at Belmont Park she must come into serious play to break her maiden status.

The danger will come from Mickey Drippin who was equally impressive at his debut run at Northam two weeks back when fourth to Courageous Show.

Third in that race was the Daniel Pearce-trained Lauradane who won with a leg in the air at Belmont last week and also looks a talented galloper in the making.

It’s been a long time between drinks for I’m a Rocker who last saluted the judge almost three years ago at Narrogin but his last-start effort was good enough to suggest he could run a race in the playeronline.com.au Handicap (2200m).

The Springsteen gelding ran second to Offer Me Jewels at Belmont Park two weeks ago and the Mark Reed-trained mare is one of the form stayers going around at present.

Terminado for Duncan Wilson has stuck good form at her past three starts with a win and two second placings and has finally drawn an alley in the tabozbet.com.au Handicap (1400m).

Wild Enforcer will be thereabouts once ago and is getting close to a win.

Kalgoorlie galloper Carribean Cruise looks a strong chance to make it back-to-back wins in the WA Racing Hall Of Fame Handicap (1100m).

The Danetime gelding has had four runs back this campaign and will strip a lot fitter than his last outing at the track when fifth to Kilkenny Jac.

Dancin On The Wind has looked good in two trials and will be making his debut in the Big Breakfast Maiden (1300m) and if Milly The Filly can replicate her trial form she will have a major chance to breakthrough in the Favourite Numbers Maiden (1100m).
