For British rider Ryan Hill is set to make his Western Australian debut when he takes the mount on the Kath Fleming-trained Alto Rouge in the Cafe Bugati Maiden (1600m) at Northam on Thursday.

Hill made the move to Perth several years ago to work as a track rider while waiting for his visa application to be approved before commencing his apprenticeship with Elva Van Merwyk.

Hill had approximately 30 rides in the United Kingdom for one win and will go into his WA race debut on the back of 15 trials at Lark Hill and Belmont Park.

Alto Rouge, a Blevic filly, has had one career start for a near last effort behind Come Party on July 1.
