Love You Like That continued her outstanding trial form with a fighting debut win in today’s Dunnings Caltex Maiden (1100m).

The Sharon Taylor-trained Pearl Of Love two-year-old commenced a clear odds-on favourite but was made to earn his victory with Chokerre providing stiff resistance all the way to the line.

The pair were engaged in a titanic battle down the straight but under hard vigorous riding from William Pike Love You Like That was able to prevail for a tight and narrow neck victory.

Dubalina and Lone Princess finished third and fourth respectively.

Brave Knell who led early faded away to be a long way from the winner as was Justematic who was forced to do the early work.

A strong victory by Love You Like That who didn’t commence with any alacrity out of the gates and was challenged down the stretch but was still good enough to respond and tough it out for a meritorious debut win.
