A daring front-running ride by Jarrad Noske has paid dividends with Step And Go scoring an all-the-way win in the Enjoy Healthy Eating Maiden (1600m) at Northam today.

As soon as the gates flew open Noske made his intentions well and truly clear by sending the Dante’s Fury gelding straight to the lead to set up a hot tempo in front.

The longer the race was run the further in front he went and at one stage he led the field by as much as twenty lengths.

Approaching the turn he started to get the wobbles with the back markers making their runs but he had enough in reserve to just ward of the challenge from Gunner Burns who dived late and Bag Of Nails who made a ton of ground late to be third.

The Rebecca Nairn-trained Step And Go has promised plenty in eleven starts with six placings to his credit but was struggling to break his maiden status; however, he shook off the bridesmaid tag this afternoon in emphatic style to record a deserving victory.
