Moneghetti Storms To Easy Win

The Lindsey Smith stable may have unearthed another promising galloper with Moneghetti scoring an easy win in the Go For 2 & 5 Maiden at Northam this afternoon.
The Blackfriars colt couldn’t have been more impressive in his maiden victory and looks destined for a promising career.
The three-year-old was always travelling sweetly in the run and was positioned third on the inside behind pace maker and second favourite Cosmopolitan City before storming to the front inside the 250 metre mark and careering away from his opposition to win by almost five lengths.
Blackfriars filly Scenic Grin ran home well for second and Cosmopolitan City battled away to be third after setting the pace early.
Moneghetti was placed fifth behind Carlton Street at his race debut in late May and followed that run with a disappointing last placing to Pytheas a month later.
Following a short freshen-up the signs looked good for his second campaign with two solid trial wins at Lark Hill and Belmont Park and he certainly attracted the attention of punters by starting at $2.20 favourite on tote.
