Eternal Power Turns On The Switch
Posted on 20/08/2009 | Back to News Archive
Eternal Power has scored his first win in almost a year by defeating Chevic and Magic Illusion in this afternoon's Northam Wools Handicap (1600m). With all runners fanned across the track approaching the 300 metre mark jockey Shaun O Donnell was able to get a charmed run down the middle of the track to power to the line in impressive fashion. August 27, 2008, was the last time Eternal Power saluted the judge when he defeated Storm Closure and St Pierre at Belmont Park. Trained in Bunbury by Mark Bairstow Eternal Power now takes his record to five wins and eight placings from 31 starts. The favourite Just Kenny was given every possible chance and was settled fourth on the inside and although he briefly challenged for the lead weakened right out of it to be placed fifth.
