It was hard earned, it was hard fought but this horse doesn'��t know any other way.

Skitzo has finally shaken off his maiden status with a gutsy win in today�s Keep Sheep WA Maiden at Northam.

It also was the first win for trainer Renae Williams who only received her trainer'��s license several months ago.

Skitzo has had three runs for Williams for a win and two minor placings

Apart from the gutsy and courageous display by Skitzo it was also a masterful ride by champion jockey Paul Harvey who was at his vigorous and tenacious best to get the winner across the line.

When the pressure was applied and it appeared Skitzo was labouring in the straight it was Harvey who dug deep and extracted maximum effort to ensure the favourite got home for a breakthrough win.

Skitzo was formerly in the care of Gram Yuill and Tom Widdeson before joining Williams in July.
