The Money Is Spot-On with Wanna Play Doctor
Posted on 13/08/2009 | Posted by Julio Santarelli | Back to News Archive
The great run of Grant Williams continued at Northam this afternoon with the win of the heavily-backed Wanna Play Doctor in the Jono & Dano Show Maiden (1400m). The money was spot on with Wanna Play Doctor scoring an impressive maiden win over Zebook and Collecting with the favourite Whipsaw back in fourth place. Willie Pike sat the winner outsider the leader Irit before unleashing an authoritative run inside the 250 metre mark and recording a dominant performance. Zebook tried hard, Collecting came from well back and the favourite Whipsaw was never really in the race and ran home fairly. He was slow out of the gates and was settled near last before making a move down the extreme outside of the rack. The winner is by Dr Johnson and tuned up for her maiden run with a trial win at Lark Hill a fortnight ago. Grant Williams enjoyed success at the last Northam meeting on July 23 following the win of former Victorian galloper Portrait Lass.
