Thursday’s eight event Northam Race Club card sponsored by Healthways features an open staying race as it’s main event.

The $12,000 2200 metre Healthy Fast Food Handicap has several last start winners and placegetters engaged and finding three selections is not an easy task.

Although yet to win in WA, Bigamist is ready to win for the astute trainer Frank Maynard. The Catbird four-year-old has made good ground late at two starts in the state including a third to Juggling at the track on June 18 and form rider Dan Staeck is in the saddle.

As mentioned there are numerous chances including recent Northam winners She’s Foxy Right and chestnut Cardera who led all the way last start over the same journey and could easily do it again for Chloe Chatfield.

Alastair’s Hope, Armed Response and Eternal Power are also considerations for the first leg of a difficult quaddie.

Em Gee Brown came under notice running fifth behind Let’s Go Secret at Belmont on June 24 after tramping three wide and then beaten 2¼ lengths.

The filly with a football flavour attached to her name and owners will only need ordinary luck to be in the finish for jockey Steven Parnham and trainer Sharon Miller. The Pariah and Vainekko can figure prominently.

Thursday’s first four events are maidens and several unknown quantities, particularly in race one make them interesting events.

Clint Harvey has winning chances with Enraptures in race one and Corvallis engaged in race three. Both have racetrack experience and have been placed.

Previous Northam and first up winner Chillisa could start her new campaign with a win in race seven over 1100 metres.

Another good mount for Steven Parnham, the filly can take up a forward position with Sexy Babe, now trained by Colin Webster and King Of Eternity as the dangers.

Jessica Valas’ ride in the final event, Minnie May ran on strongly to win at the track and over the distance on June 11. She can repeat the dose for Lark Hill trainer Liz Strempel despite a 1.5 kilo weight rise.

Maiden Marleycombe and Juggling another winner over the 1600 metres has a wide draw and 2.5 kilos more but should be powering home again.
