About Mane Event Café and Catering
Mark Dimmitt & Gary Payne established Beaumonde Catering in 1989 and they became market leaders in the catering industry in Western Australia winning 26 Awards including: 5 National Caterer of the Year Awards presented by the Australian Restaurant & Catering Industry Association. Beaumonde is the only catering company in Western Australia to be inducted into the RCIA’s ‘Hall of Fame’.
The quality and presentation of their food was one of the outstanding aspects of their company. Imaginative and interesting menus offered clients enormous variety and choice. To support their philosophy regarding food Chefs were chosen for their ability to cook and their enthusiasm and creativity with food. "The chefs ... Their Guest Chef program encouraged and challenge the Kitchen Brigade.and included: Neil Perry, Christine Manfield, Bill Granger, Philip Johnson, Shannon Bennett, Ben O’Donahue, Kylie Kwong, Maggie Beer, Stephanie Alexander, David Thompson, Guy Grossi, Russell Blakie, Chris Taylor, Todd Chevens & Kate Lamont.
Following the sale of Beaumonde, Gary and Mark retired to their property in Toodyay where they soon found themselves looking for a challenge. Their close association with the Northam Race Club over previous years lead to a conversation where Mane Event was born. The Club welcomed the opportunity to grow a partnership with such a talented duo and establish a reputation for on-course dining. The rest….. a delicious history.
